Owners

In 1975 Gunnar B. Dungal and Þórdís Alda Sigurðardóttir moved to Dalland with 3 horses. Since 1977, with the purchase of Lýsa from Efri Rot and Gnótt from Sauðárkrókur, they have been engaged in horse breeding, forestation and land cultivation.

Gunnar and Þórdís have always kept busy; in addition to running the Dalland horse farm, they have taken care of various other projects over the years.

 

Gunnar is the former owner and CEO of Penninn / Eymundsson, Griffill and the bookstore Mál og menning. Today, Gunnar and Þórdís are the main owners of GKS, a kitchen and bathroom cabinet company in Reykjavík.

Horse breeding, forestation, horticulture and art are their main interests and fields of work.

 

Þórdís is a working artist and spends a large part of her days creating art, as well as a group called the Academy of the Senses, which organizes group exhibitions of other artists and publishes books in relation to those exhibition.
